Description

The Consumer Finance Product Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of product, its functionality, user experience and new development. The incumbent has full responsibility for personal loans and direct auto. This person is accountable for driving the overall strategic direction of the products in order to meet business objectives with goals of increasing share of direct lending in all channels including digital. Responsibility for ensuring new originations and portfolio are operating at or above expected returns.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and own Direct Lending’s Product strategy and execution
  • Lead Product development leveraging innovative business models and new customer value propositions
  • Work with the Group’s New Digital Business unit in creating new digital solutions within BBVA
  • Develop market analysis data that is used to ideate and support emerging business models and new consumer lending initiatives
  • Work closely with multiple internal and external parties on initiatives and program implementation as well as business analytics
  • Partner with Vendor Management, Finance, Operations, Compliance, Risk Management and Marketing to optimize various strategies and initiatives
  • Closely monitor competitive pricing and product features positioning to ensure optimized pricing


Preferred qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree or MBA in Business, Marketing, or other quantitative discipline is preferred
  • 2-5 years’ experience with consumer lending products
  • Expertise in product /pricing /marketing and competitive landscape
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the banking industry preferred
  • Proven successful portfolio management experience in secured & unsecured lending
  • Familiarity with US regulatory, compliance and governance
  • Capable of inspiring cross functional teams and influencing the organization through strong rationale and business justification
  • Well organized, disciplined planner and implementer with sound strategic judgment, thinking and vision
  • Outstanding communication skills; able to foster close and collaborative productive working relationships across the organization
  • Ability to review information and solve problems quickly
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at a time and see them to completion in an optimal time frame
